ZOOM Teeth Whitening
Each procedure is tailored to each individual patient because no two cases are the same as no two people are the same. That’s why we take the time to provide all the details about each case and procedure.
Having a sparkly white grin is an appealing thought to many people, yet our teeth don’t stay as white as we’d like them. At a glance, porous tooth enamel absorbs pigments from wine, coffee, cola, juice, sports drinks, and smoking, leading to your teeth developing a dull, yellow, stained or discolored appearance. Additionally, your enamel becomes thinner over time due to acid attacks, aggressive brushing, and regular wear and tear. For these reasons, many people seek out ways to whiten their teeth. Teeth whitening done in a dentist’s office is a safe and efficient method to lighten your smile. Professionally supervised whitening will work faster, and protect sensitive gums and tooth-root surfaces better than over-the-counter whitening products.

You may be a candidate for teeth whitening if you have stained or discolored teeth that are otherwise healthy and free from tooth decay. To determine if you are an ideal candidate for teeth whitening, schedule a consultation with our Flushing, Queens dentist at Dental Solutions New York.

At Dental Solutions New York, we utilize the Zoom™ system. The materials used in this process include: a specially formulated bleaching gel, whitening trays, and Zoom™ light. Over the course of about an hour, our New York dentist will shade your teeth to make them lighter by applying the dye-free whitening gel with a brush, followed by your teeth being illuminated with special blue lights from the Zoom™ device. The treatment takes about an hour and your teeth will likely be visibly whiter after the procedure. Depending on how badly your teeth are stained, you may need a repeat session of Zoom™ whitening to achieve the level of brightness that you desire.

For long-lasting results, it is recommended to minimize your consumption of highly pigmented foods and beverages, and maintain good oral hygiene such as brushing, flossing, and regular dental cleanings.
-
Some people experience temporary tooth sensitivity during or after treatment. This usually subsides shortly after the treatment ends.
-
Teeth whitening is most effective on extrinsic stains (from food, drinks, or tobacco). Intrinsic stains (from trauma or certain medications) may require different treatments.

Results can last from a few months to a couple of years, depending on your oral hygiene, diet, and lifestyle habits. Regular maintenance can help prolong the effects.
